Since 2005, ETDE has supported the Blue-Energy NGO, which plans to supply electricity to isolated communities on Nicaragua’s Caribbean coast by means of locally-made wind generators. It supplies equipment, provides its staff’s technical expertise, and organizes Human Resources packs through which trainees from schools of engineering and business work on a two years internship with Blue Energy and ETDE, etc. ETDE’s contribution has helped to install new wind generators that supply power to isolated schools and villages.
On October 26th 2007, the company set up ‘Operation Container’, with the aim of donating new equipment that is difficult to find in Nicaragua to allow the wind turbines to be built (pneumatic tools, welding machines, electrical connection equipment, personal protection equipment, etc.). Even the wooden crate in which tools were sent will be re-used in the manufacture of a wind turbine!
