The company introduced the "building permit" system, a week-long training course on safety given to all site workers before they are allowed to work on site. An additional week-long training course, called "Vital Attitudes" and entirely devoted to the theme of safety is attended by the foremen.
Furthermore, new safety standards were laid down. These are very practical, and give rise to a series of pragmatic measures designed to reduce accidents, such as banning the use of ladders on sites during the structural works phase.
