A leader in the earth moving sector

DTP Terrassement worker

A member of Bouygues Construction's Specialist Civil Works division, DTP Terrassement specialises in linear works and high added-value terrestrial infrastructures. Operating in France and numerous other countries, the Bouygues Construction's earthworks subsidiary offers a diversified range of skills applied to a variety of highly technical projects from small-scale local sites to the design and construction of roads, motorways, high-speed rail links and opencast mining operations.

DTP Terrassement's organisation is based on a solid structure with centralised support functions (finance, legal affaires, purchasing, etc.) and on the development of skills and the versatility of its technical teams. Site machines are the cornerstone of an earth-moving business, and DTP Terrassement's fleet constitutes a key asset. The company runs a fleet of 850 site machines, 600 of which are situated outside France, and is responsible for its own machine maintenance.

On a commercial level, DTP Terrassement is endeavouring to develop more partnerships and synergies, including with private customers such as Alstom or other Group structures.

Progress in sustainability

A4 motorway in PolandThe French leader in earthworks, DTP Terrassement obtained the renewal of its triple QSE certification in 2009, consisting of ISO 9001 (quality), OHSAS 18001 (safety) and ISO 14001 (environment).

The company leads a policy of training all its drivers in eco-driving techniques, an approach that seeks to improve safety and reduce carbon emissions by optimising and reducing fuel consumption. The company also focuses its attention on reducing the consumption of water used to limit dust on its sites. These initiatives form part of an agreement concluded with the FNTP (the French national federation of public works), which sets detailed targets and deadlines.

CarbonEco®, the software package developed by the Bouygues Group for calculating the greenhouse gas emissions of construction sites, was adopted by DTP Terrassement's technical departments in 2009. As a result, it was able to differentiate itself through "low carbon" offers.
