An operator and a developer
The highlight of 2009 was the signature of an important concession contract covering the design, construction and operation of a 1.1-kilometre twin-tube undersea tunnel in Miami. The Group's first major civil works contract in the United States, the project also includes the widening of MacArthur Causeway and the construction of an interchange. The tunnel will provide a second access road to the port, decongesting downtown Miami by removing heavy freight traffic.
When the infrastructure is constructed, it will be operated by a concession company for a period of thirty years.

An operator and a developer
The Concessions division operates the transport infrastructure concession companies in which Bouygues Construction holds a stake. With the benefit of this experience, the division also plays a role in the start-up of new projects to be operated as concessions, giving the Group the opportunity to deliver its competences in technical design, finance, legal affairs and construction.
The purpose of the Concessions division is to develop a complementary, long-cycle business that will generate recurring revenue, thus giving the Group the stability necessary for a long-term vision. Operating in France and a number of other countries, it manages a variety of infrastructures: motorways, tunnels, tramways, bus networks, stadiums, etc.
