COMMERCIAL/SALES EXECUTIVE

Mission
The Commercial/Sales Executive is responsible for commercial follow-up of projects, from finding contracts to transfer of the project dossier to the construction department.

He finds invitations to bid and investment programmes. He replies to invitations to bid and negotiates bids, analyses the risks involved in projects and obtains finance for projects. After signing a contract, he hands it over to the production teams and coordinates the different contributors involved in the project. He is responsible for follow-up and development of the commercial portfolio. He may manage one or two people.

MANAGEMENT EXECUTIVE

Mission
The Management Executive is responsible for the economic, financial and administrative processing of a profit centre or a cost centre.

The Management Executive controls the budget of construction sites and/or indirect costs. He records orders, draws up client invoices, and sends any reminders. He checks expenses, draws up monthly operating accounts, and prepares the monthly management report. He also has the right to give warning if a budget slides out of control. He prepares the quarterly business portfolio, produces projections of monthly business activity, and prepares the annual budget plan and budget updates. He ensures that the data entries of operating items (time-keeping sheets, accounts, and management data) into the company’s management information system are correct.

DESIGN EXECUTIVE (AIR CONDITIONING / ELECTRICAL INSTALLATIONS)

Mission
The Design Executive is responsible for conducting one or more design and construction studies as part of a project or within a department.

When directing a Design department, he ensures its proper operation as regards human, material and financial resources. He studies, defines and validates the best technical solutions. He takes part in finalisation meetings with the production department and clients. He keeps track of technical changes in design schemes and ensures conformity with the contract documents. He ensures that procedures are applied. He chooses, monitors and assesses subcontractors. He also keeps a technology watch over suppliers, provides technical support to his staff and production personnel, and manages Designers and Drafters. He establishes budgets and schedules for studies and ensures that they are complied with.

COST ESTIMATION EXECUTIVE

Mission
As part of an invitation to bid or at a client’s request, the Cost Estimation Executive conducts a cost estimate ordered by the commercial department.

He analyses the invitation to bid, produces and validates the estimates of quantities and costs, and requests and analyses bids from suppliers and subcontractors. He determines the cost of labour required for carrying out the project, proposes a form of organisation for the project, and determines the price of the project. He writes the technical documents for the bid, analyses the legal risks related to the contract, and takes part in the technical and commercial negotiation of the bid. He advises the client on technical aspects. He manages the team of technicians working on the cost estimate.

MAINTENANCE EXECUTIVE

Mission
As part of the comprehensive maintenance and servicing of the Bouygues Group’s head offices, the maintenance executive may be in charge of technical supervision of all installations, sanitary plumbing, and catering equipment.

CONTRACT MANAGER

Mission
In charge of site supervision and of preparing sites for handover to clients, the Contract Manager is responsible for the satisfactory completion of the works, of which he monitors progress regarding technical, equipment and budget aspects. In managing ground crews, he ensures compliance with schedules and procedures, and with the quality and safety policy.
As distinct from the Works Supervisor, in the tertiary sector and in industrial maintenance, the Contract Manager also handles day-to-day relations with the client.

Mission
The Business Unit Manager represents the company and directs commercial and construction work within his area of activity.

Commercial: He analyses the contract and defines the objectives and the action to be taken, answers invitations to bid and takes responsibility for the submission of bids, directs commercial action taken by his staff, and is responsible for canvassing for business and for commercial follow-up of the main clients.
Technical: He draws up the investment plan to adapt the resources to the contract, and supervises the application of quality procedures, regulations concerning health, safety and working conditions, and labour law.
Financial: He draws up the budget updates and annual plan, ensures compliance with financial objectives, and supervises invoicing and finances/cash flow.

Mission
He reports to Technical Management and works for different construction sites. He acts with delegated authority, and is responsible for requesting bids from subcontractors and concluding the bidding process (for HVAC + power and lighting installations / communications installations) within the framework of the reference base provided. After finalisation of negotiations with contractors, on the basis of the technical note and the analysis of risks that he draws up, he takes part in appointing subcontractors together with the Works Engineer.

Mission
As part of the Civil Engineering Department’s commercial staff, he will be responsible for drawing up estimates for projects concerning river and marine structures.
