COMMERCIAL/SALES EXECUTIVE

Mission
The Commercial/Sales Executive is responsible for commercial follow-up of projects, from finding contracts to transfer of the project dossier to the construction department.

He finds invitations to bid and investment programmes. He replies to invitations to bid and negotiates bids, analyses the risks involved in projects and obtains finance for projects. After signing a contract, he hands it over to the production teams and coordinates the different contributors involved in the project. He is responsible for follow-up and development of the commercial portfolio. He may manage one or two people.

LAND SURVEYOR 

Mission
The Land Surveyor performs land surveys as part of the study or design of utility networks. He studies and verifies a layout on the site, notes particular points and enters the survey data. He contacts the owners, operators and users of sites and obtains the required information on the positions of existing structures and buildings. He defines the precise setting out of structures and buildings, and verifies their execution. He takes measurements off drawings, draws up the corresponding estimates of quantities, and marks out and quantifies wooded areas.

DESIGN ENGINEER

Mission
Takes part in the design and optimisation of structures

The Design Engineer checks and validates the foundations of the structure or building according to the type of soil (geotechnical studies), performs technical structural calculations (squaring, ratios of steel and concrete, and strength of materials), designs the various structural elements (bridge deck, arch, reservoir, etc.) on the basis of the client’s data, supervises the production of drawings of the structure or building, and contributes to the development of variants to optimise the structure and the use of materials.

He works on projects for buildings or public works (bridges, tunnels, etc.) at the preliminary design or working design stage. For the preliminary design, the Design Engineer determines the main principles of the structure or building, and provides the Commercial team with all the items required for drawing up estimates of the structure or building. For the working design, he defines the structure or building in every detail and provides the drawings required for execution of the works on the site.

PUBLIC WORKS ENGINEER

Mission
The Public Works Engineer takes part in the completion of contracts obtained by the company in compliance with conditions concerning work schedules, quality, safety and cost.

The Public Works Engineer takes part the construction of civil engineering structures, such as bridges, viaducts, tunnels, underground utilities, dams, etc. He takes charge of supervision of part or all of a structure. His tasks change as the construction work progresses.

During the construction work preparation stage, the Public Works Engineer performs a technical analysis of the project dossier, starts working design studies, defines the working methods and procedures and the means required, organises logistic installations on the site, appoints suppliers, and determining the financial target of the project. During the construction work stage, he supervises and coordinates work carried out by Bouygues itself and by subcontractors, controls the budget for the structure, and manages the contract with the client (including modifications, claims, etc.).
