Internships

illustration internshipEvery year we offer a number of internships in all our professions – building, civil engineering, electrical contracting and maintenance, and our support functions – for students on courses leading to a CAP (elementary certificate of competence), BEP (technical school certificate) or Baccalauréat professionnel (vocational secondary school leaving certificate).

If you join us you will become an integral part of one of our teams and will be given genuine responsibilities. Your time with Bouygues Construction will allow you to discover the world of building and civil engineering and gain valuable experience working alongside our experienced site workers and other employees. You will have the opportunity of working on complex sites and contributing to high-profile projects!

We welcome students with a wide range of profiles, backgrounds and experience. In addition to your education and training, we know that your future success in this dynamic industry will depend on your enthusiasm, initiative and motivation.

Internships may be continuous or form part of a sandwich course. Internships are a fast-track to finding your first job: 40% of our new recruits are former interns!

Apprenticeships

illustration apprenticeshipsBouygues Construction is a signatory of the Apprenticeship Charter (in which major French companies undertake to offer apprenticeships), and offers apprenticeship contracts to a number of young people at vocational secondary schools and apprenticeship training centres. Most apprentices study at specific colleges and centres with Bouygues Construction partners. Apprenticeships enable young people to learn the traditional building and civil engineering trades while increasing their chances of finding employment.

When you join us you will follow an induction course and will be assigned to one of our projects. We pay particular attention to tutorship: your tutors are specially trained and will be assigned to you for your entire apprenticeship, sharing their knowledge and experience with you on a daily basis.

We believe that apprenticeships encourage excellence and boost chances of professional success. view our job opportunities  or apply on-line!

Bouygues Construction has also set up its own Apprenticeship Training Centre: The CFA Gustave Eiffel offers several courses leading to a two-year technical college diploma. Young people studying at our training centre will be offered apprenticeships in one of our entities. For further information, visit the training centre’s page.

Jobs

Bouygues Construction site workerWe are constantly recruiting, in all our operational entities and across all our business lines. In 2008, 7,000 new employees, including 4500 in France, will join the Group.

If you have a CAP (elementary certificate of competence), a BEP (technical school certificate) or a Baccalauréat professionnel (vocational secondary school leaving certificate), we have a wide range of job opportunities, such as reinforcements fitter, form setter, tracer, finishing mason, construction equipment operator, utilities fitter, etc. At Bouygues Construction we call our site workers compagnons in French, literally journeymen, in reference to the long-standing guild of journeymen. They share certain values, such as the importance of a job well done, the need to pass skills down to future generations, and teamwork. Our choice is indicative of our belief that the manual trades should be recognised and valued. This is why we recruit on a long-term basis, so that employees can progress within the Group. We are looking for people with a range of profiles and experience who will work well with our existing teams and who are capable of contributing to ambitious and prestigious projects. Such men and women are the key to Bouygues Construction’s success, both now and in the future.
