5 - Quality training opportunities throughout your career

Training forms an integral part of the Group’s human resources strategy.
Training is available for young students who are potential future employees as well as existing employees. We train these future employees in our own apprenticeship training centre, the Centre de Formation en Apprentissage Gustave Eiffel and also offer many internships and apprenticeships (almost 3,000 in 2007).
More than 4% of the payroll is currently earmarked for training. All our employees can benefit from high-quality training which will enable them to improve their professional lives. Through training we are building the company of tomorrow.

We favour a personalised approach, through regular assessments and training courses tailored to meet each individual’s needs. 7 - An international career, if you want one

We can therefore offer long overseas internships (6 months’ minimum) and between 50 and 60 international volunteer (VIE) placements every year. You will have the possibility of relocating to an overseas Bouygues entity on completion of your international volunteer placement or after you have worked for a while in France.

8 - Remuneration, the advantages of a large group

Bouygues Construction sets salaries for new recruits on the basis of the employee’s professional experience and profile. Each employee benefits from the company’s results through mandatory and optional profit-sharing schemes. Employees have access to savings schemes such as the Corporate Savings Scheme (PEE), employee shareholding plans, a supplementary pensions savings scheme (PERCO), etc.

We hire employees with a variety of profiles, cultural backgrounds and experiences. This diversity allows us to create high-potential teams (in terms of skills, creativity, competitiveness, collective pride and desire to achieve) that are capable of working on ambitious projects. Diversity is the key to our long-standing success in such a dynamic and growing sector, which is why we continue to promote it at every possible level. In 2006 we initiated a number of actions to boost employment of women in our sector, which is currently low, and of disabled persons. We also launched a review aimed at eliminating any traces of discrimination when hiring.

10 - A socially responsible company that is fully aware of environmental issues

Capitalising on initiatives by its subsidiaries, in 2006 Bouygues Construction developed an ambitious and pragmatic sustainable development (renvoie vers la page Homerh/sustainable development) programme. This aims to reconcile our objectives in terms of profitability with the social, cultural and environmental impact of our activities.
For the design of buildings or other constructions, we provide advice on the choice of techniques and materials to be used, based on the application of a life cycle analysis. We organise research projects on sustainable construction and develop high environmental quality construction works when we are their designers.
Then, in carrying out construction work, we do everything possible to reduce and recycle the waste produced by our work, to control and limit energy use, and to save natural resources. We are also committed to developing consultation and feedback with local residents to limit the nuisance caused by construction sites.
