Voice-over: People standing in a meeting room
Voice-over: Close-up of Cyrille
Cyrille: It’s a small work meeting. We split up the work just before leaving, and now we’re off.
Voice-over: Cyrille in his car. He is a network installer, a foreman at ETDE.
Cyrille: My name’s Cyrille, I’m the foreman of the street lighting team and my work mainly concerns maintenance, repairs and new works in Boulogne. We do a lot of new works. We occasionally run the electricity network underground, and we do a lot of street lighting and traffic lights. We do maintenance and repairs, and locate faults when there’s a major failure.
Voice-over: a colleague joins Cyrille who is sorting things out in his car.
Cyrille: That’ll help organise our work a bit; know where we’re going to start.
Voice-over: Cyrille points out a streetlamp in a park.
Cyrille: Here’s an example of the work we have to do, replace all the lamps on this type of street light. It’s what we call a systematic replacement. We get here and we’re told: “such and such a park, square or street: change the lamps”. We’re always outdoors, come rain, hail or shine. For us not to work, it’s got to be really freezing or there has to be a lot of snow. But when the weather’s good, it’s a really nice job.
Voice-over: Cyrille and a colleague walk in the park.
Cyrille: OK, are we done? There’s lots of reasons why this is a good company: we’ve got the right tools, a fleet of vehicles that’s being constantly renewed, a good company image… everything really.
