Bouygues Construction launches Projection, its Sustainable Construction Index
As part of its sustainable development policy, Bouygues Construction has designed a software package dubbed "Projection" to enable its clients to evaluate their housing projects from the design phase in terms of social, economic and environmental criteria.
September 18th 2007
"Projection" assesses control of energy consumption, use of renewable energies, optimisation of project design, use of "green" products and the "total cost" approach.
Based on 120 multiple-choice questions in three major fields – society, the economy and the environment "Projection" defines the project's profile with respect to sustainable development goals. The resulting scorecard indicates whether the project will be able to obtain Habitat & Environment® certification delivered by Cerqual, a French certification body. Clients will also be able to view in real time the areas for progress that need to be addressed.
Development of the software was completed in September 2007. "Projection" has been delivered to commercial teams from Bouygues Construction's operating units in France. Teams will be trained in October in order for the software to be available to clients in November.
Through "Projection", Bouygues Construction aims to support its clients' sustainable development policies on a partnership basis by helping them evaluate their project and putting forward alternative solutions that respect the environment.
