Involving suppliers and subcontractors
 | Bouygues Construction's responsible purchasing policy is driven by a committee which is responsible for providing training and information for purchasers on the topic, along with catalogues of eco-friendly products and equipment intended for technical and site teams. The evaluation of suppliers' CSR performance is given more force by the involvement of a specialized external organisation, Ecovadis (see below). As a result of its work, an objective analysis and the benchmarking of suppliers are possible. This approach complements the guiding principles that are stipulated in the Supplier CSR Charter, which is appended to contracts, as well as specific clauses on matters of social and environmental responsibility incorporated in subcontracting contracts. Particular attention is paid to suppliers in emerging countries. All Bouygues Construction subsidiaries endeavour to engage subcontractors on these issues through a handbook handed over at the beginning of operations that covers such topics as health, safety, quality, the environment and the fight against illicit labour. Evaluation of suppliers' Corporate Social Responsability
Since 2007 Bouygues Construction evaluates its suppliers' Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
Bouygues Construction entrusted EcoVadis with the evaluation of 164 suppliers mading up €415 million purchases in 2010. Ecovadis evaluations are adapted to specific Sustainable Development issues of each activity sectors and bear upon environmental,social, ethical criteria and also upon demands of suppliers toward their own suppliers.
Aiming at a responsible selection of its partners and long-range creation of value, Bouygues Construction integrates its suppliers' CSR performance in its purchases procedures. In a willingness of Continual improvement, the suppliers evaluated by Bouygues Construction have access to their results thanks to EcoVadis collaborative platform.
