![]() | Bouygues Construction is joining forces with CARE, which has been operating in Haiti for over half a century, and has 130 staff. CARE, which is directly involved in the coordination units, has already begun distributing 60,000 meals and 600,000 water purification tablets. CARE's strategy in the coming months will be to restore drinking water access systems for approximately 50,000 people living in and around Port-au-Prince, to provide temporary shelter (tents, mosquito nets, blankets) for 25,000 people and to channel basic food supplies, distributing rations of rice, oil, vegetables and beans. CARE is currently dealing with emergency relief but will maintain a long-term presence in Haiti in order to implement a number of rehabilitation projects |
