Bouygues Bâtiment International was the main contractor for the construction of this 296-room 5-star hotel. The 21-floor building is designed to evoke an ice-cube. It houses the city's largest conference centre, two restaurants, three bars and a fitness club. The northern, eastern and southern facades of the hotel are entirely covered by glass walls.

Temperatures experienced in Ekaterinburg, which is in the heart of the Urals, range from -35° C in winter to +28° C in summer. As a result, many human and technical challenges (concrete pouring, active facades, etc.) had to be overcome.
