Carried out within the framework of developing the port in La Condamine, the works consisted in creating a protective breakwater for the existing port and constructing an outer harbour able to accept liners and cruise ships.
The breakwater is formed from:
- an 85 m long, 40 m wide and 32 m high reinforced concrete abutment, laid at less than 30 m on fill.
- three reinforced concrete coffers forming the link between the abutment and the shore,
- and an area of fill creating a 1.2 hectare constructible site.
Bouygues Travaux Publics is currently building an extension to the port.
