Design, build and maintenance for the Home Office, the British Ministry of the Interior. Following the demolition of the three blocks in central London formerly occupied by the Ministry of the Environment, Bouygues Construction was awarded the contract for reconstruction operations and facility management (management of hotel, general and maintenance services) over a 26 year period. Bouygues Construction also organised the financial engineering of the project through the issuing of a £274 million bond loan. This operation falls within the framework of the PFI (public finance initiative) policy that allows the government to delegate services to the private sector. The 55,000 m² new head office will provide space for 3,500 persons.
