Philippe Bonnave, Bouygues Construction CEO, signed an operational reserve policy support agreement on 10th November, alongside Florence Parly, Armed Forces Minister. This agreement will allow reservist employees to be more responsible and committed than ever.
By this measure, Bouygues Construction commits to offering to its operational reservist employees particular measures that go beyond legal obligations to allow them to complete their reserve periods. Among them, 10 days authorised leave per year (in place of the 5 in the Labour code)
This agreement is a further step towards the community-minded company Martin Bouygues, Group CEO strives for. Bouygues Construction, which aims to fully assume its social and societal mission, thus becomes a National Defence trusted partner and reinforces its position as a responsible and committed stakeholder.
“This partnership illustrates Bouygues Construction’s commitment to supporting its reservist employees and reinforcing our links with the Ministry for the Armed Forces”, said Philippe Bonnave, CEO of Bouygues Construction.
Guillaume is a Bouygues Construction employee and also an army sergeant in the marine battalion. He has been a reservist for four years and serves under the flag on average 25 days a year. “The reserves answer a call to invest civically and for my country,” he explained, while reminding us that the attacks committed on French soil and the current security situation give meaning to this commitment and justify the effort it involves.
And conscription is demanding. “I have to practice my reservist activities at the weekend and during leave. It is th
erefore a choice that my family, and also my colleagues, bear”. Signing the convention should help in this commitment by allowing employees to devote as much time as they would like to serving their country and fellow citizens.
A sense of commitment, adaptability, availability, loyalty, management, team spirit, ethics, technical expertise, stress management, and so on. There is a strong correlation between the values Bouygues Construction and our military institutions uphold.
For Stéphanie, who has been in the military police reserves for seven years and the French inter-armed forces cyber-defence reserves for four years, the military police offers a real space to reflect on the problems she is passionate about: safety, defence, threats, etc. and that she also encounters on her Bouygues Construction tasks. “The people I might meet during my periods as a reserve, as well as the know-how I acquire, also reinvigorate me for my profession”.
