The Disability Network at Bouygues Energies & Services
Bouygues Energies & Services, a subsidiary of Bouygues Construction, was the first company in its sector to implement a disability agreement.
Signed in 2006, the agreement was renewed in 2009 and 2012. Following the success of the first three agreements, our subsidiary renewed its commitment for another three years in 2015. The aim is to promote the recruitment of people with disabilities and to keep them in their jobs.
The new agreement comprises four main lines of action:
-Recruit disabled people, particularly through training programmes designed and implemented by Bouygues Energies & Services to provide access to skilled jobs with permanent contracts.
-Support job retention for employees in difficulty, victims of workplace accidents, occupational illnesses or accidents in their private life.
-Subcontract to the sheltered sector, to give the most severely disabled people access to the workplace. Bouygues Energies & Services subcontracts activities such as reprographic services, seminars, translation, and poster campaigns.
-Raise awareness among employees and managers using original tools. As a result, many managers at Bouygues Energies & Services have already been able to take part in one-day events to raise awareness on disabilities.
Underlining their commitment, the Disability Network at Bouygues Energies & Services conducted an awareness campaign. Here is the latest episode in the series on invisible disabilities and, more specifically, deafness. This disability currently affects 275 million people whose level of hearing difficulty ranges from moderate to total deafness. (Source: WHO)
