Energy performance in construction
Bouygues Construction respects the environment and energy performance in all its activities. This means optimising the use of resources in order to consume less. Bouygues Construction promotes the use of energy-friendly solutions, a commitment which regularly reaps rewards by receiving environmental certificates. There is a triple objective: reducing the amount of energy needed for buildings and their users, to be able to measure and manage energy consumption and to develop renewable energy sources.
Solar energy, a source of renewable energy
The sun provides us with light and heat and this energy can be used by humans for heating, lighting and to produce electricity. Bouygues Construction has integrated this energy source into its projects by installing photovoltaic solar panels to produce electricity and thermal solar panels for heating. In 2010, Bouygues Construction signed France’s first energy performance contract for social housing. Bouygues Construction’s headquarters is a symbol of our commitment to energy performance with over 25,000m2 of photovoltaic panels. The group is also committed to constructing positive energy buildings which produce more energy than they consume.
