Opportunities for the disadvantaged

Bouygues Bâtiment Ile-de-France has a highly proactive policy to encourage social integration. The know-how of the company's operating units was reflected in training initiatives and close connections with community organisations. Behind each example of work and training opportunities, mentors are working on the ground, forming an essential link in the success of each individual scheme.

In the context of its "Gateway to Employment" programme, Bouygues Bâtiment Ile-de-France supports people in need of career orientation or lacking a professional project, mainly through a donation of employees' services. Approximately fifty employees from all the company's operating units take part in these ventures, providing support for more than sixty people in all.

Company-wide awareness of workplace health and safety

In 2008, the company launched a campaign on the theme "Health, Safety, I'm Involved!". This new policy aims to create a breakthrough in behaviour, with the objective of achieving zero accidents. With this aim in view, all the employees adopted a charter consisting of five commitments which are all based on individual and collective responsibility, implementing safety rules and instructions, sharing know-how and good practices and involving all the company's stakeholders in its movement for progress.

In addition, Bouygues Bâtiment Ile-de-France has introduced a two-day training session on health and safety issues for all newly hired site workers.
