Promoting sustainable and

responsible practices

Common principles and

shared values

Our relations with suppliers and subcontractors are based on three principles: ethics, social responsibility and environmental issues.
In practical terms, this means that in every call for tenders, we incorporate specific environmental and social requirements: our suppliers are selected on the basis of strict CSR criteria, not just by taking account of cost or commercial performance.

We are also committed to working with our partners to help them reduce their carbon footprint and to support their initiatives to boost local employment.
These commitments deliver tangible benefits for local communities and residents.

In practice, we use the EcoVadis platform to assess our suppliers’ CSR performance: 400 partners will be assessed by the end of 2026.
These assessments allow us to measure progress, pinpoint areas of improvement and encourage the adoption of best practices.
This helps strengthen our mutual trust and joint capacity for innovation.

An ambitious and responsible

Purchasing strategy

    Decarbonisation

We measure the emission reductions linked to the energy, fuel, concrete and rebar used on our construction sites.
They are achieved through circular economy practices, transport optimisation and the use of EPDs (environmental product declarations).
These tools allow us to compare different solutions and highlight the emissions savings achieved on each project.

Le soleil orange éclatant illumine les toits clairs des bâtiments et les nuages, contrastant avec les teintes grises de la ville.

    Local economic development

We prioritise SMEs along with social economy structures, such as the sheltered and protected employment sector. In 2024, we awarded several hundred contracts to local businesses, generating direct jobs and contributing to regional development.

    Commitment to human rights

We prioritise risk prevention by conducting systematic social audits and considering vigilance criteria from the moment partners are selected. This ensures compliance with international standards and enhances the integrity of our projects.

    Sustainable partnerships

We support our suppliers in their CSR ambitions by providing progress plans, training and sector-focused workshops. This promotes collective skill development that benefits the entire industry, creating a virtuous circle of performance.

A central issue of environmental transition

We believe that we have a role to play in supporting our entire ecosystem in the transition to a low-carbon economy. To achieve this, we prioritise low-carbon materials, energy-efficient solutions and choose local suppliers wherever possible in order to reduce the impact of transport-related emissions.

We work with a variety of partners – start-ups, SMEs, large corporations, local authorities, research laboratories and NGOs – to develop innovative solutions that address the challenges of environmental transition.
Our collaborations with research laboratories, for example, enable us to test low-carbon materials, while our partnerships with local NGOs contribute to preserving biodiversity on our construction sites.

The guarantee of a lasting relationship

Our certification for responsible procurement (the RFAR label) demonstrates our commitment in this area, including strict compliance with payment deadlines, balanced contractual relations, recourse to mediation in the event of disputes, and the inclusion of social and environmental criteria in decision-making processes.

Suppliers and subcontractors can be confident that this means a stable and fair contractual framework, which helps them to ensure the long-term success of their business. This recognition strengthens the structure of our procurement policy and guarantees our customers and partners relationships based on transparency and sustainability.

In addition, our ISO 9001 certification reflects our dedication to continuous improvement and standardising of our practices on a global level.

    WWF France
