An education and research campus for the future of construction
Dragages Singapore, a subsidiary of Bouygues Bâtiment International, was awarded by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) the design and construction of the new BCA Academy, an education and research facility dedicated to advancing construction expertise in Singapore.
The project comprises two complementary buildings forming a single integrated campus:
• A 7-storey Zero Energy Building, constructed using Mass Engineered Timber (MET)
• A 16-storey Super Low Energy Building, delivered with Advanced Precast Construction System (APCS) and Pre-fabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction (PPVC)
Spanning more than 21,800 m², the facility combines architectural performance with advanced construction technologies to optimise energy efficiency and operational performance.
The buildings integrate passive design strategies such as natural ventilation and enhanced thermal insulation, combined with intelligent lighting systems and high-efficiency equipment, ensuring both reduced energy consumption and improved occupant comfort.
Delivered in 2022, the BCA Academy stands as a reference project illustrating Dragages Singapore’s expertise in delivering technically advanced education and research facilities using innovative construction methods.
