Woodoo and Bouygues Construction take the next step as they prepare to industrialise augmented wood solutions
WOODOO, the global pioneer in augmented wood, and Bouygues Construction have embarked on a new and decisive phase in their strategic partnership. Following 12 months of technical development, the two companies are launching the industrialisation phase of STACK™, a new construction material.
This innovative structural solution is based on augmented wood and rivals reinforced concrete and steel in terms of mechanical strength while offering an unmatched carbon footprint.

Adressing industrial and climate challenges
With demand for industrial and digital infrastructure growing at an unprecedented rate, Bouygues Construction and Woodoo have joined forces to achieve their shared goal of providing a competitive alternative to traditional materials while significantly reducing the carbon footprint of the construction sector.
By replacing some reinforced concrete structures with STACK™ augmented wood structural elements, the partner companies are aiming to combine technical performance, economic competitiveness and large-scale decarbonisation.
Commercial rollout follows an initial phase of technical validation
The performance of STACK™ for the structural frameworks of industrial buildings and infrastructure has been deemed a technical success. Building on this achievement, the two partners are now moving into the industrial production phase, involving the supply of an initial batch of 1,000 m³ of structural elements.
In parallel with the launch of full-scale production, Woodoo is also being given priority access to Bouygues Construction’s Scale One programme, contributing to the pending ATEx approval certification (Technical Evaluation of Experiment), the process for which is underway.
Beyond this initial production run of 1,000 m³, the partnership is targeting the rollout of 10,000 m³ of STACK™, equivalent to replacing 20,000 m³ of reinforced concrete on new-generation industrial projects, particularly for infrastructure relating to digital applications and artificial intelligence (data centres).
William Nippert, CEO of Bouygues Bâtiment Industrie, said: “As industrial and digital infrastructure continues to expand rapidly, we must take immediate measures to address the issue of decarbonisation. That is what the partnership between Bouygues Construction and Woodoo effectively does: it aims to demonstrate that it is possible to build both more quickly and sustainably, still keeping the environmental footprint under control. The commitment to the industrialisation of STACK™ is an important milestone in bringing this innovation to construction sites.”
Timothée Boitouzet, CEO and founder of Woodoo, said: “Woodoo is now entering a phase of industrial production and commercial roll-out. The commitment to the first 1,000 m³ represents a key milestone towards our goal of creating an industrial platform capable of replacing conventional materials in low-carbon buildings and infrastructure.”
