An international institution of excellence for Marseille
A symbol of excellence for Marseille, the Jacques Chirac International School Complex was built by a consortium comprising Bouygues Bâtiment Sud-Est, Ricciotti Rudy, Carta-Reichen et Robert Associés Architectes Urbanistes, Lamoureux & Ricciotti Ingénierie, G2I – Garcia Ingénierie, WSP in Switzerland, Stoa Groupe, AC2R, SUR&TIS, Inddigo, Gamba, R2M and Bouygues Energies & Services.
Covering 27,730 m², it offers an educational program entirely dedicated to international studies, with German, Arabic, British, Chinese, Spanish and American sections. It welcomes 2,200 students, from primary school to preparatory classes.
Two separate 8-story blocks connected by an enclosed interior courtyard were built for the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region and its public partners, the Bouches-du-Rhône Department, the City of Marseille, and the Aix-Marseille Academy:
- the first block houses the elementary school (420 students), the boarding school for minors (around 100 rooms for 200 students), 14 staff apartments, the kitchen, and the dining hall
- the second block houses the middle school (720 students), the high school (1,050 students), preparatory classes, the 2,200 m² sports center, and the documentation center.
