A nuclear construction project of unprecedented scale
Bouygues Travaux Publics, in partnership with Laing O'Rourke as part of the Bylor consortium, is participating in the construction of Hinkley Point C, the first nuclear power plant to be built in the United Kingdom in over 20 years. Commissioned by the British government from NNB, a company majority-owned by EDF Energy, this new-generation power plant is located in Somerset.
It comprises two EPR reactors designed to supply 7% of the country's electricity consumption and will power nearly 6 million homes.
This truly extraordinary construction site is one of the largest energy projects in Europe, bringing together all the latest developments in the sector in terms of innovation, technical expertise and safety.

Innovation and excellence serving the nuclear industry
Hinkley Point C stands out for its extensive use of prefabricated, large-scale concrete components, which optimise construction time and quality.
The site also employs unique resources, such as the SGC250 ‘Big Carl’, the largest land-based crane in operation, capable of lifting loads of up to 5,000 tonnes, and advanced digital technologies such as BIM and connected cranes to manage the site in real time.
Nearly 10,000 people work every day on this monumental 175-hectare site to provide low-carbon energy for future generations and help the UK achieve its Net Zero target by 2050.

Our projects

Chernobyl Sarcophagus
A metal containment structure designed to provide long-term protection for the nuclear reactor damaged in 1986 and to facilitate its decommissioning.

Laser Megajoule
Construction of the civil engineering and secondary works for this nuclear test simulation centre, located in the south-west of France. The building covers a footprint of 40,000 m² and includes 150,000 m² of floor space.

NCPF (new concentration of fission products) - Workshops R2 and T2
Construction of two nuclear facilities in La Hague, designed to process waste in accordance with stringent safety and containment standards.
