Nordik: sustainable housing in the heart of Dunkirk
In December 2025, Bouygues Bâtiment Nord-Est completed the Nordik development in Dunkirk, a project comprising 62 intermediate-rent homes developed by Linkcity on behalf of CDC Habitat. The project forms part of the reindustrialisation drive in the Dunkirk area and supports the “12,000 homes” plan led by the Urban Community and the City of Dunkirk, aimed at meeting the housing needs arising from the creation of new jobs in the area.
Completed in 18 months on a 3,469 m² site, the development comprises two buildings housing 35 and 27 homes respectively. The flats, ranging from one-bedroom to three-bedroom units, have been designed to offer a comfortable and sustainable living environment. All feature a private outdoor space — a conservatory, balcony or terrace with a small garden on the ground floor — as well as bicycle storage facilities and 47 outdoor parking spaces.
Designed by Soissons Architectes, the project draws inspiration from Dunkirk’s port identity. The bold volumes and metal cladding in shades of blue, gold and red create a distinctive silhouette, in harmony with the urban landscape and the constraints of the coastal climate.
Anticipating the requirements of the RE2020 environmental regulations by 2025, the development features a high-performance building envelope ensuring excellent thermal performance. This project illustrates Bouygues Bâtiment Nord-Est’s commitment to working alongside local stakeholders to design sustainable residential projects that are integrated into their surroundings and meet the needs of the local area.
