Major renovation of a 146-unit residential building

Bouygues Bâtiment Sud-Est is renovating a residential complex of 146 apartments built in 1933 for Lyon Métropole Habitat. Carried out in partnership with Atelier d’Architecture Bernard Paris & Associés, Terre Eco, Betrec IG, Indigène Paysages, and Idex, the project involves a complete transformation of the complex, with ambitious goals in terms of decarbonization and reuse:

  • Targeted BBC Renovation level: final energy label B vs. initial E
  • Use of bio-based materials: wood wool insulation for facades, wood and aluminum joinery, collective wood-fired boiler room
  • Integration of materials from the recycling sector: railings, loggia cladding
  • A first phase of construction incorporating materials already present on site, and a second phase incorporating reused materials from external construction sites.

This project is being carried out in partnership with Cyneo, Bouygues Bâtiment France's circular economy facilitator.

Following the delivery of 86 homes in February 2025, the second phase is underway with the restructuring of 60 apartments.
