The revival of an iconic heritage site in the heart of Nantes

Over a period of 26 months, seven construction projects were carried out simultaneously by teams from Bouygues Bâtiment Grand Ouest to restore the existing historic buildings of the Dobrée Museum: the 19th-century Dobrée house, the 15th-century manor house, and the 1970s reception building. and to construct two new extensions to the manor house and visitor center, as well as the technical galleries connecting the three buildings. The outdoor areas were also completely redesigned to be transformed into gardens open to the city.

Launched in October 2021, the restructuring work consisted in particular of repairing the roofs with tiles, nailed slates, standing seam copper, and stones identical to those existing on the Palace and the Manor. The roofs were removed and replaced with the same model, respecting the details of the original construction.
