This 5,400 metre-long sea viaduct, which will connect Saint-Denis (the capital of Reunion Island) to La Grande Chaloupe, is a major component of the New Coastal Road. The aim is to replace the current road along the coast between Saint-Denis and La Possession, which is dangerously exposed to the risk of rock falls and submersion under the waves during storms. For this project, initiated by Bouygues Travaux Publics, over 95% of the structure will be prefabricated on dry land before being put in place mainly from the sea.
In October, after the launching last June of the phase involving the prefabrication of the pillars and voussoirs, the barge Zourite (a giant barge constructed to transport the pillars of the future viaduct) transported and successfully put in place the three sections of Pillar 48, the first pillar of Reunion Island’s Coastal Viaduct to be erected in the sea.
We invite you to relive all the operational stages of this extraordinary project in this video:

To meet the needs of both patients and healthcare workers, each healthcare site must combine reliability with ease of use. This fact is not always taken into account. This is evidenced by the numerous problems pointed out by users relating to space and practical issues. However, whether in care homes or hospitals, the building can be a valuable asset in taking care of the most vulnerable and allowing health professionals to work in the best possible conditions. This is a major challenge that Bouygues Construction wants to address using digitisation.
