A key highway link for Abidjan

The Henri-Konan-Bédié Bridge is part of a 6.5-kilometer urban highway link designed to connect the Riviera and Marcory neighborhoods by crossing the Ébrié Lagoon. The structure supports a 2 × 3-lane roadway and is Abidjan's third road bridge. The project also includes two sections of highway, an interchange and a 21-lane toll booth, designed to handle high traffic flows. By reducing detours by approximately 10 kilometers, this infrastructure helps improve traffic flow for users traveling between the north and south of the city.

Designed for sustainable mobility

The bridge is 1.5 kilometers long and rests on a double deck of 2 × 30 prefabricated 50-meter-long caissons, which were installed by sliding and translating them onto barges in the lagoon environment. Its design incorporated high standards of sustainability and safety to ensure the structure's durability and the continuity of highway operations. The project paid particular attention to the surrounding ecosystems, with air and water quality monitoring, nuisance management, and preservation of natural environments. The mobilization of local labor and associated training initiatives helped to reinforce the project's positive socio-economic impact on the region.
