Creating an exclusive Caribbean cruise destination

Bouygues Bâtiment International delivered a transformative private island destination for MSC Cruises in the Bahamas. Located off the Bimini Islands, this exclusive cruise passenger destination sits at short distance from Miami, providing MSC with a distinctive Caribbean port of call supporting the cruise line's newly introduced North American itinerary programme. The 40-hectare development transformed a former industrial sand-mining site into a world-class resort destination. The island features six pristine beaches totalling 3.5km2. This transformation required comprehensive environmental remediation, landscape restoration, and infrastructure development creating an authentic Caribbean retreat experience.

The 107 buildings across 12,500m² of development embrace traditional Bahamian-style design executed predominantly in wood construction. The island provides passenger services and amenities, including a dedicated arrivals centre managing cruise passenger flow, multiple restaurants and bars, retail outlets, and an exclusive spa facility.
