Transformation of an industrial wasteland into a new neighbourhood combining city and nature
Located at the 22nd kilometre of the Deûle river, on a former industrial wasteland, the Quai 22 urban project is home to a brand new complex combining housing, offices, services and leisure facilities. This mixed-use neighbourhood stands out environmentally, both in terms of the design and operation of the buildings. The project is characterised by the increased use of low-carbon materials, such as low-footprint concrete, wood and bio-based materials for building construction, while incorporating the principles of the circular economy and energy innovations. Work began in 2021 and will be completed in 2027 with the delivery of the last residential building.
