Infrastructure serving local communities
The Rhine–Rhône high-speed rail line is the backbone of rail transport between Burgundy and Franche-Comté, connecting the Mediterranean high-speed rail line to the Eastern European rail network. Designed as a three-pronged star, it offers 140 km of new track and significantly reduces travel times for users.
On Lot A4, Bouygues Travaux Publics—via DTP Terrassement—built 29.1 km of track, including earthworks, 52 engineering structures, the restoration of communications, and a major sanitation component. Near Besançon, this sector also includes a new TGV station, enhancing the region's attractiveness and accessibility.

An environmentally friendly construction site
Passing through sensitive wooded areas, the Rhine–Rhône high-speed rail line was built with particularly stringent environmental requirements. The teams designed the route and the works taking into account a major breeding site for a rare species of bat.
Earthworks management, the implementation of drainage systems and the preservation of biodiversity were integral parts of the project's priorities. By incorporating these constraints into the design phase, Bouygues Travaux Publics is taking a responsible and exemplary approach to future rail infrastructure projects.

Our projects

Gautrain Rapid Rail System
Design, construction and operation of an 80-km rapid rail line, delivered in time for the 2010 FIFA World Cup and recognised for its environmental performance.

High Speed 2 (HS2)
Between London and Birmingham, as part of the Align consortium, we built 21.6 km of infrastructure, including a 16 km twin-tube tunnel and a 3.4 km viaduct.

Nîmes-Montpellier rail bypass
Construction of 80 km of new track, including 60 km of high-speed track and 183 bridges. A public-private partnership.

Rhine-Rhône high-speed rail
A key infrastructure project, the Rhine–Rhône high-speed rail line connects regions and improves their accessibility thanks to 140 km of new track, 29.1 km of which were built by Bouygues Travaux Publics.
