A W Edwards
A new metro gateway connecting Sydney’s north to the CBD
A W Edwards, subsidiary of Bouygues Bâtiment International, delivered Crows Nest Station as part of Sydney Metro, Australia’s largest public transport infrastructure programme.
Awarded as one of six new underground stations extending rapid rail services from Sydney’s north-west through the CBD and into the south-west, Crows Nest Station represents the most technically complex project in A W Edwards’ history. The station features two entrances, an underground concourse and platforms located 25 metres below ground, as well as a 10-storey commercial tower, retail spaces, expanded bicycle parking and major public-realm enhancements.
Officially opened in August 2024, the new metro service connects the Crows Nest community to central Sydney in just 11 minutes. At peak operation, the line can accommodate up to 40,000 passengers per hour, with trains running every four minutes.
Designed for a 100-year service life, Crows Nest Station illustrates Bouygues Construction’s expertise in delivering complex, large-scale urban transport infrastructure, combining technical performance, passenger comfort and long-term durability.
