Bringing specialist care closer to home in West London
Bouygues UK was appointed lead contractor by Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust for the design and build of the new Diagnostic Treatment & Education Centre (known as Ambulatory Diagnostic Centre during delivery phase) at West Middlesex University Hospital. This new collaboration builds on the long-term partnership between the Trust and Bouygues UK.
The new five-storey facility will deliver vital diagnostic and treatment services in cancer, renal care, and medical imaging for local residents. By providing care closer to home, the Diagnostic Treatment & Education centre frees up critical inpatient space in the main hospital whilst significantly reducing health inequalities and improving patient outcomes through enhanced outpatient and day services.
Designed as an all-electric, sustainable building, the facility integrates five storeys of new construction with a rooftop plant and terrace area. A single-storey link corridor on the ground floor connects seamlessly to the existing hospital building, optimising staff and patient navigation. Beyond clinical services, the centre will house a state-of-the-art education and training centre, reinforcing the Trust's commitment to enhancing staff skills and recruiting top talent to deliver exceptional healthcare services.
