Xylo, the first commercial building made of wood in the Grenoble area

Twenty-eight months of work have brought this innovative building to life, combining comfort and simplicity in the heart of the Grenoble peninsula.

Delivered in January 2024 to the management company Midi2i, it was developed by Linkcity and built mainly from wood by Bouygues Bâtiment Sud-Est.

The result:

  • 2,700 m² of modular, light-filled office space
  • A 400 m² catering area
  • 200 m² of accessible, green terraces
  • A large bicycle storage area and 46 parking spaces.

Its understated design was conceived by Composite Architectes:

  • Wooden structure from the first to the seventh floor
  • Efficient heating and cooling thanks to a geothermal heat pump
  • Roof-mounted solar panels that directly supply the building with energy for its own consumption
  • BREEAM environmental certification (very good rating), BBCA label (high performance rating) and E+C- label (E3C2 rating).
Un bâtiment moderne blanc et bois se dresse au centre d'un campus urbain avec toits végétalisés et panneaux solaires, encadré par de vertes montagnes sous un ciel nuageux au crépuscule.
