Bouygues Construction University celebrates its fifth anniversary
Founded in 2008, Bouygues Construction's corporate university recently celebrated its fifth anniversary. To date, approximately 5,000 of the Group's employees have received training from Bouygues Construction University.
This extramural corporate university is a global concept of offers and tools available to all Group employees, in France and other countries. Primarily intended for training, it is also a focal point for meeting people and building networks, discussing, sharing and thinking. 70 training programmes are available, covering all professions available in the Group. They are taught by 175 trainers (both in-house and external), all of them specialists in their fields.
Bouygues Construction University develops training programmes that supplement the training offers of each of the Group's entities and subsidiaries.
This anniversary has provided an ideal opportunity to evaluate the past five years and to devise projects for the future: creation of new programmes, English-language adaptations of current programmes, strengthening of innovative and interactive teaching methods and the development of "blended learning" (training that combines online sessions with classroom teaching).
Jean-Manuel Soussan, Human Resources Director of Bouygues Construction, said: "Training forms part of our objective of shaping a better life for our employees. It is a vital lever for supporting our teams and helping them adapt to the changes that are occurring in their professions."
This year, Bouygues Construction has invested around 5% of its annual payroll in training. In 2012, two-thirds of Bouygues Construction's 25,000 employees in France took part in at least one training programme. Of the 416,000 hours of training that were dispensed, one third were devoted to safety. The rest were concerned with technical issues relating to specific professions, management and personal development.
