Building for life, building for responsible housing

The Eglantine eco-neighbourhood was completed in June 2022 after three years of work by teams from Losinger Marazzi, a Bouygues Construction subsidiary in Switzerland. It consists of 450 homes that are at the cutting-edge of advances in sustainable development and energy transition, while contributing to the well-being of residents.

Located close to the Morges town centre, Eglantine blends seamlessly with its natural surroundings. Its outdoor spaces are designed to respect biodiversity, with landscaped embankments, additional trees planted to supplement the existing tree line, a vegetable garden and orchard, and a central park as a green space. The neighbourhood is free of road traffic and encourages soft mobility, with 1,000 spaces reserved for bicycles, footpaths and electric scooters available to residents.

The focus has been on renewable energy production. By ensuring that energy production is spread across the entire site, the neighbourhood can supply zero-fossil-fuel energy, in particular through the use of geothermal probes, heat recovery from wastewater and additional biogas.

Housing that anticipate the needs of today and tomorrow

Thanks to smart, connected solutions, local residents can also adjust and control their energy consumption for greater efficiency. Electricity is generated by photovoltaic panels installed on the roofs of buildings, and most of this energy is consumed by the neighbourhood itself.

This project confirms Bouygues Construction’s position as a key player in the Swiss local economy, as well as its expertise in regional transformation and its commitment to construction projects that contribute to the well-being of local communities, through sustainable, resource-efficient construction.
