Alongside Derwent Living, Bouygues Development was awarded a contract to finance, design and build a student accommodation development on the campus of the University of Hertfordshire, and to operate it for 50 years. It consists of 3,000 student bedrooms, associated social spaces and a campus gym, designed and built by Bouygues UK. This campus is one of the most advanced in the United Kingdom in terms of sustainability. The timber-frame buildings is equipped with their own energy-production infrastructure. This campus obtained BREEAM® Outstanding certification, i.e the top level of environmental accreditation.
