In Belfast, Bouygues Energies & Services is in charge of the engineering, construction and procurement of the largest waste-to-energy power plant in Northern Ireland. This new waste-to-energy plant has a production capacity of 60 MW and will treat more than 150,000 tonnes of feedstock derived from local commercial and industrial waste and will help save 50,000 tonnes of carbon per year. In total, 100 GWh of electricity will be exported to the grid per year. Bouygues Energies & Services will provide a turnkey power plant using state-of-the-art technology developed with Biomass Power Limited, and will carry out the operation and maintenance for 17 years.
