IntenCité Descartes, which is scheduled for completion in 2023, aims to support energy and ecological transition in cities, while also improving appeal, inclusion and social diversity. This multi-level property project includes sharing of car park spaces, with a focus on housing and office parking.
What is car park sharing?
Linkcity Île-de-France has chosen Zenpark to manage and organise this sharing system. Zenpark will manage the sharing system in this car park and will implement an ‘overlapping’ system. Each user will be guaranteed a parking place according to their needs; their spot, however, will not always be the same. This will encourage rotation and will optimise occupancy rates.
How will ZENPARK work?
Using data collected from its sites across the country, Zenpark found that a parking space could be used on average by 1.2 users. This shared approach generates income for parking space owners while making traffic flow more smoothly thanks to easier access to parking for office users.
What does this actually mean?
Zenpark will fit a smart unit to all entry and exit points, including pedestrian points. Users will be able to remotely open and close car park entrances using either the Zenpark app, a keypad or a remote control. For greater security, users will be identified as soon as the gate is opened. This system will also have the advantage of being able to measure real space occupancy at any given time. It will be able to automatically change the number of spaces that are available in order to optimise car park use and owner income, thus reducing the costs of the common areas.
